Welcome to our page about a drinking water project in Mozambique!

The Duna & Agua Mozambique project is a multidisciplinairy project (MDP) in cooperation with Dunea to help improve the drinking water system in Inhambane, Mozambique. Currently, a lot of drinking wells in the area are contaminated and are still being used by the population. Unfortunately there is not a lot known about the purposes of contamination. A possible reason for the contamination of the drinking wells is the subsurface flow from waste wells towards drinking wells.

This November, a team of 5 master students from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) will travel towards Inhambane for 10 weeks to build a geohydrological model to examine the directions of the subsurface flow. The team consists of students from different masters: hydraulic engineering, watermanagement and environmental engineering.

With our expertise we hope to make a big step in the improvement of the drinking water system in Mozambique.
