About Feminists of Maastricht

Feminists of Maastricht is a student association focused on intersectional feminism. It aims to discuss political, economic and social inequalities in Maastricht and all around the world through weekly meetings, lectures, movie screenings, protests and events. Intersectionality has been popularised by Kimberlé Crenshaw to describe how gender, race, class, sexual orientation, disabilities and other individual characteristics, especially in the experiences of marginalized individuals or groups “intersect” with one another and overlap and are mutually constitutive rather than isolated and distinct.
