In the 1980s, Spierings put the tower crane on wheels. After all, the only thing better than a tower crane is a tower crane on wheels; only then can you get the most out of any crane. Until then, no one had ever succeeded in converting a tower crane into a crane on wheels. But... Spierings did it, and brought about the birth of the mobile tower crane.
