About Veilig Papendrecht
Due to the relatively high burglary numbers in Papendrecht, the civilian initiative Safe Papendrecht was created. The initiators created WhatsApp-groups which cover the entirety of Papendrecht, allowing Papendrecht inhabitants to be engaged in the safety of their neighborhood. Via the WhatsApp-groups, the civilians can easily pass along suspicious situations to each other to prevent a break-in. The initiative works closely together with the police and municipality. Over 2.000 civilians are already connected to the WhatsApp-groups, making it one of the most successful initiatives in the field of civilian safety.
