2.2 billion people on earth still lack access to safely managed drinking water. 696 million of them have to walk at least 30 minutes for clean drinking water. People in this group spend an average of 30 minutes to 2 hours per day collecting water, with some individuals walking up to 4 to 8 hours daily in highly arid regions.
